Meaning of the Prayer Mantra:

 Oh Lord Rudra, like the son saluting the father,
vividly we hail Your name coming close!
We hail the One Who gives abundantly, Lord of good!
We praise You! You heal us!

 Notes:

1. upayantam - coming close; gRuNIShE - praise;
rAsi - Give.

2. kumArashchitpitaraM vandamAnaM
We pray the Supreme like the son who salutes the father.
It is both with love and respect.
Praying the Supreme as the parent has been continuing as
a core thought in spirituality.
