Prayer from Kena Upanishad

ॐ

यस्यामतं तस्य मतं मतं यस्य न वॆद सः ।
अविज्ञातं विजानतां विज्ञातमविजानताम् ॥ ३ ॥

yasyAmataM tasya mataM mataM yasya na vEda saH |
avij~jAtaM vijAnatAM vij~jAtamavijAnatAm || 3 ||

Meaning of the Prayer Hymn:

 One who thinks that it is beyond doctrine, he has a perspective of It;
He who thinks It is within (his) doctrine, does not know.
Wise say they do not (fully) know.
Unwise claim they know It well;

 Notes: 

1. matam - principle/doctrine; vijAnata - wise.

2. Doctrines cannot put boundary to God. 
The religious principles should help the seeker to gain the
perspective of God. If one thinks that God is defined through
those principles, it simply means that the individual has not
yet got the maturity to understand God. Indoctrinated person
can be a religious zealot, but cannot be a true seeker of the Supreme.

3. People who know little and immature claim their knowledge of God.
Given the nature of God that transcends beyond the capability of the
instruments including the intellect, the wise submit humbly that they do
not (and cannot) fully know the Supreme.

சரணங்களே சென்று சார்தலுமே தான் எனக்கு
மரணம் பிறப்பென்று இவையிரண்டின் மயக்கறுத்த
