திருச்சிற்றம்பலம்

எரிகின்ற தீயொத்துள சடை ஈசற்கு அத்தீக்கு இமையோர்
சொரிகின்ற பாற்கடல் போன்றது சூழ்புனல் அப்புனலிற்
சரிகின்ற திங்களோர் தோணியொக்கின்றது அத்தோணியுய்ப்பான்
தெரிகின்ற திண்கழை போன்று உளதால் அத்திறல் அரவே.

Translation of seramanperumal ponvannatandadi:

Like the burning fire is the matted hair; For that fire,
the ocean of milk that is offered by celestials - so 
appears the encircling flood; In that flood the plunging
crescent appears as a boat; Like the strong oar that
propels that boat, is the mighty snake !
