பரப்பொப்பானைப் பகலிருள் நன்னிலா
இரப்பொப்பானை இளமதி சூடிய
அரப்பொப்பானை அரத்துறை மேவிய
சுரப்பொப்பானைக் கண்டீர் நாம் தொழுவதே.

Meaning:
One like the widespread (rays of the) day,
Like the night of the nice moon amidst the darkness,
One Who wears the tender crescent, 
One Who is like the bud, One Who dwells in thirunelvAyil
araththuRai, like the Spring (Fountain), Him,
we worship.

Notes:
1. He is the brightness of the day and the
coolness of the night. He is the Spring that
is the Ultimate Source.
2. parappu - spread; irappu - iravu - night;
arappu - arumbu - bud; curappu - fountain.
