திருச்சிற்றம்பலம்

விண்டெலா மலரவ் விரை நாறு தண் தேன் விம்மி
வண்டெலாம் நசையால் இசை பாடும் வலஞ்சுழித்
தொண்டெலாம் பரவும் சுடர் போல் ஒளியீர் சொலீர்
பண்டெலாம் பலி தேர்ந்தொலி பாடல் பயின்றதே.

Meaning of the Prayer Song:

 As the floors bloom and the honey in them brimming 
spreading the fragrance, the bees sing in ecstacy.
In such Thiruvalanchuzi, oh the Brilliant like the flame
hailed by the servitors, tell why do You keep going
on alms since ancient time singing loud?

 Notes: 

1. virai - fragrance; nasai - liking.

2. This whole padhikam is dedicated to the Great Lord 
coming for alms - the Bikshatanamurthi
In every song Sambandhar questions the Lord 
why do you wander taking alms? (Consequently this Padhikam got
the title Vinavurai - The question padhikam)

3. Why does the Lord Pasupathi, the Lord of all lives, beg?
