Meaning of the Prayer Hymn:

 Then they asked Vayu.
Oh Vayu! Find out who this spirit is.
(He said) Ok.                                3.7

He rushed to It.
(It) asked him, "Who are you?"
He said, "I am Vayu." and continued, "I am the one known as Matarishva."     3.8

"What is the power in you?", It asked.
"I can move everything - anything on the earth.", he replied            3.9

Putting a straw, It said, "Move!"
He rushed on it with full speed.
He was unable to (move it).
Then he returned saying, "I could not know what that Spirit is!"            3.10

 Notes:

1. atha - then; abruvan - asked; abhyadravat - quickly approched; abhyavadat - asked;
mAtarishva - moving in the sky; Ada - take; upaprEya - rush upon; java - speed; nivavRute - returned.
