You cut off the sins of those who chant (Your) Feet. You kept the cut white crescent on the head. You sit over the chaste white bull. You saw the divine of lust to be burnt off. You lowered those who do not have love. Oh the Lord of the universe, (special) Throated Supreme ! Oh the Lord Who reside in thiruvAlavAy but is (limitlessly) big ! Notes: 1. thiruviyamakam is the special construct in which the last words of each line repeats in the following line giving either the same or different meaning. In thamiz grammar it is referred as maDakku aNi. The grand master of thamiz nyAnacamban^dhap perumAn has sung many such thiruviyamakam thiruppadhikams. 2. cenni - head; erudhu - bull; iziththal - lowered in status; aNDam - universe; akaNDa - broadening.
