What do you see in the pond ?

திருஞானசம்பந்தர் திருக்கடைக்காப்பு தலம் திருக்கழுமலம் (திருப்பிரமபுரம் - சீர்காழி) பண் மேகராகக் குறிஞ்சி முதல் திருமுறை திருச்சிற்றம்பலம் சேவுயருந் திண்கொடியான் திருவடியே சரணென்று சிறந்து அவன்பால் நாவியலும் மங்கையொடு நான்முகன் தான் வழிபட்ட நலங்கொள் கோயில் வாவிதொறும் வண்கமலம் முகம் காட்டச் செங்குமுதம் வாய்கள் காட்டக் காவியிருங் கருங்குவளை கருநெய்தல் கண்காட்டுங் கழுமலமே. திருச்சிற்றம்பலம் thirunyAna camban^dhar thirukkaDaikkAppu thalam thirukkazumalam (thiruppiramapuram - cIrkAzi) paN mEgarAgak kuRinyci mudhal thirumuRai thiruchchiRRambalam cEvurarum thiNkoDiyAn thiruvaDiyE caraNenRu ciRan^thu avanpAl n^Aviyalum maN^gaiyoDu n^Anmukan thAn vazipaTTa n^alaN^koL kOyil vAvithoRum vaNkamalam mukam kATTac ceN^kumutham vAykaL kATTak kAviyiruN^ karuN^kuvaLai karun^eythal kaNkATTun^ kazumalamE. thiruchchiRRambalam Meaning: "The Lord, Who has the powerful (strong) flag that raises the bull, only His Feet is the refuge.", excelling so, with the lady residing on the tongue (sarasvati) the four faced lord, where worshipped Him, that glorious temple is thirukkazumalam, where in each of the ponds, beautiful lotus depict the face, the red kumutham flower depict the lips, the red striped dark kuvaLai, dark n^eythal flowers depict the eyes. Notes: 1. The great poet of true devotion, camban^dhar, who enjoys the Dance of God in the nature and elaborate that beauty, has especially poured them in the padhikams of paN mEgarAgak kuRinci. The five padhikams in this paN given by camban^dhar are used to pray God for getting rain-showers. 2. While the others see the ponds full of assorted flowers, the poet sees a beautiful face that is made out of just flowers ! The bloomed out Lotus is the face, in that there are red lips of kumutham, the black flowers kuvaLai and n^eythal become the attractive dark balls of the eyes !! Won't rain showers come to feel those faces ! 3. cE - bull; vAvi - pond; kamalam - lotus; kAvi - saffron / light red color.
