திருஞானசம்பந்தர் திருக்கடைக்காப்பு தலம் திருநாகைக் காரோணம் பண் குறிஞ்சி முதல் திருமுறை திருச்சிற்றம்பலம் வலங்கொள் புகழ் பேணி வரையால் உயர் திண் தோள் இலங்கைக்கு இ¢றை வாட அடர்த்து அங்கு அருள்செய்தான் பலங்கொள் புகழ் மண்ணிற் பத்தர் பணிந்தேத்தக் கலங்கொள் கடல் நாகைக் காரோணத்தானே. திருச்சிற்றம்பலம் thirunyAna camban^dhar thirukkaDaikkAppu thalam thirun^Agaik kArONam paN kuRinyci mudhal thirumuRai thiruchchiRRambalam valaN^koL pukaz pENi varaiyAl uyar thiN thOL ilaN^gaikku iRai vADa aDarththu aN^ku aruL ceydhAn palaN^koL pukaz maNNiR paththar paNin^dhEththak kalaN^koL kaDal n^Agaik kArONaththAnE. thiruchchiRRambalam Meaning: With the mount that is renowned for circumambulation crushing down the lord of ilaN^gai (irAvaNan) having large strong shoulders to wither away and (then) there He blessed. In the land that is known for strength (solid) the devotees worship the Lord of n^Agaik kArONam adjoined by the sea where ships are docked. Notes: 1. kayilAyam is the mount, which one has to go around in reverence, but irAvaNan tried to move it off from his way. As a result he was pressed down below that mount ! 2. varai - hill; aDarththu - crushing; kalam - ship; n^Agai - n^AgappaTTiNam.
