திருச்சிற்றம்பலம்
எவரேனுந் தாமாக விலாடத் திட்ட
திருநீறுஞ் சாதனமுங் கண்டா லுள்கி
உவராதே அவரவரைக் கண்ட போது
உகந்தடிமைத் திறநினைந்தங் குவந்து நோக்கி
இவர்தேவ ரவர்தேவ ரென்று சொல்லி
இரண்டாட்டா தொழிந்தீசன் றிறமே பேணிக்
கவராதே தொழுமடியார் நெஞ்சி னுள்ளே
கன்றாப்பூர் நடுதறியைக் காண லாமே. 6.61.3

Meaning:
On seeing those whoever on their own wears
on the forehead the holy ash and rudraksha, melts
in heart.
On seeing such people without any aversion (being
indifferent), enchanted with their devotion, looking
at them with blossomed face.
Without considering a second God saying, "This is God.
That is God.", following only the glory of Ishvara
(Lord shiva).
Worshiping without any deception.
- In the hearts of such devotees the Pole of kanRAppUr
(Lord) can be seen !
Notes:
1. "na dvitIyo na tr^itIyashchaturtho nApyuchyate
na pa.nchamo na ShaShThaH saptamo nApyuchyate
nAShTamo na navamo dashamo nApyuchyate
ya etaM devamekavR^itaM veda"
- atharva veda
There is none second to It, neither third not even fourth.
There is none fifth to It, neither sixth not even seventh.
There is none eighth to It, neither ninth not even tenth.
It is the only Supreme. This is to be known.
2. ilATam - forehead; cAdhanam - uruththira cAdhanam
- rudrAksham; uvarAdhu - without aversion; kavarAdhu
- without pretence; n^aDuthaRi - the fixed pole (used for
tying cows. Lord appeared in this pole for a devotee)
