Meaning of Thevaram

The harsh demon of burnt hair when lifted the mount, the shivamUrthi Who blessed crushing his shoulders and legs; One embellished with ash; One with pealed striped skin; Those who get the mind of ever holding on to thiruppiramapuram, where He resides, they are the apt!

பொருளுரை

எரிந்த மயிர்களையுடைய கொடிய அரக்கன், மலையை எடுக்க அவனுடைய தோள்களையும் பாதங்களையும் நெரித்தருளும் சிவமூர்த்தியும், திருநீறணிந்த மேனியனும், உரிக்கப்பட்ட வரித்தோல் உடையவனும் ஆகிய பெருமான் இருக்கின்ற திருப்பிரமபுரத்தை எப்பொழுதும் மனத்திலே கொண்டிருப்பவர்களே தக்கவர்கள்.
