Meaning of Thevaram

The forests where the feathered peacocks reside with their females; The wide foothill where the bamboos shower on the ground the pearls from their embryo; The forest where clouds dense with droplets crawl; One who thinks of the Perfect feet of the Reverend of such thiruvaNNAmalai, that removed the power of the divine of death, they are free from vinai.

பொருளுரை

பீலியுடைய ஆண்மயில்கள் தங்கள் பெண்மயில்களோடு வாழும் பொழில்களும், மூங்கில்கள் தங்கள் சூலிலிருந்து முத்துக்களை நிலமெங்கும் பொழிகின்ற விரிந்த சாரலும், நீர்த்துளிகள் நிறைந்த மேகங்கள் தவழ்கின்ற (உயர்ந்த) காடுகளும் உடைய திருவண்ணாமலையில் உறைகின்ற அண்ணலாரின் காலனுடைய வலிமையை நீக்கிய சேவடிகளை யார் நினைக்கின்றார்களோ அவர்கள் வினை நீங்கப்பெற்றவர்கள்.

1. பெடை - பெண் (மயில்); கழை - மூங்கில்; ஆலி - நீர்த்துளி; வலி - வலிமை.
