திருச்சிற்றம்பலம் 

மருந்துவேண் டில்லிவை மந்திரங் கள்ளிவை
புரிந்துகேட் கப்படும் புண்ணியங் கள்ளிவை
திருந்துதே வன்குடித் தேவர்தே வெய்திய
அருந்தவத் தோர்தொழும் அடிகள்வே டங்களே.

Meaning:
When the medicine is sought, they are the medicine; They are the 
mantras; They are the Meritorious things that are ardently heard; 
They are the forms of the Reverend Lord, the Divine of the divines 
taken abode in thirundhudhEvankuDi - worshipped by great ascetics.

Notes:
1. The philosophy explains to us that the Formless Supreme called 
parashiva - incomprehensible, out of Its Grace took the form of 
sadhashiva (shivalingam) in front of brahma and viShNu. Further It 
took many forms in Its act of Grace to the pashus many forms that 
are easy to worship and show the love with. These much adored forms 
are called mAheshvara mUrthams. The purANas tell these as 25 concise
and 64 expanded. (The details of these could be found at 
siddhanta/maahesh.html ).
2. Sambandhar hails the glory of the Forms of Lord shiva in this hymn.
