திருச்சிற்றம்பலம் 

வேயுறு தோளிபங்கன் விடமுண்ட கண்டன் 
	மிகநல்ல வீணை தடவி
மாசறு திங்கள்கங்கை முடிமே லணிந்தென் 
	உளமே புகுந்த அதனால்
ஞாயிறு திங்கள்செவ்வாய் புதன்வியாழம் வெள்ளி 
	சனிபாம்பி ரண்டு முடனே
ஆசறு நல்லநல்ல அவைநல்ல நல்ல 
	அடியா ரவர்க்கு மிகவே.

thiruchchiRRambalam 

Meaning:
The Lord, Who has the bamboo like shouldered Lady in His part, Who has 
the stain of the poison He ate in His throat, playing excellent viina, 
wearing flawless moon and ganga entered my heart, because of that sun, 
moon, mars, mercury, jupiter, venus, saturn and the two serpents 
(rAhu & ketu ) are good without ill effects, do good only more and 
more to the devotees.

Notes:
1. sambandhar and appar were at thirumaRaikkADu, when the invitation 
to sambandhar from the pANDiya queen and minister came. Then pANDiya 
kingdom was ruled by jainism. The jains in pallava kingdom tried to 
give appar the maximum possible torture, but by the Grace of the 
Supreme he came out unhurt in all the occasions. Reminded of such 
atrocities that loveful old saint advised sambandhar not to go and 
instead he would go, as the positions of the planets were not 
conducive that sambandhar takes up that trip. sambandhar said as the 
Lord shiva is in the heart all the planets are only for good. He 
thundered at the thirukkaDaikkAppu (last song) of this padhikam, 
"It is our order that the devotees singing the song would live 
gloriously without the ill effects of planetary motion affecting 
them !" sambandhar later went on to the pANDiya kingdom and 
rejuvenated the shaivism, overcoming all atrocities done against him, 
by the Grace of God.
2. This padhikam is sung to mitigate the ill effects of the planetary

3. veey - bamboo; maachu - flaw/blemish; aachu - badness/ill behavior.
