திருச்சிற்றம்பலம் 

பொங்கு வெண்மணற் கானற் பொருகடல் திரைதவழ் முத்தங்
கங்கு லாரிருள் போழுங் கலிமறைக் காடமர்ந் தார்தாந்
திங்கள் சூடின ரேனுந் திரிபுரம் எரித்தன ரேனும்
எங்கும் எங்கள் பிரானார் புகழல திகழ்பழி யிலரே.

Meaning:
With the sandy shore looking as if foaming, the striking waves 
showering pearls (bubbles), which rip apart the darkness of the night - 
the Lord residing in that roaring thirumaRaikkADu, whether wears the 
moon or burns out the tripuras, wherever it be, our Lord is full of 
fame not any blame and blemish !

Notes:
1. If one carefully observes the purANic incidents, a very subtle and 
important message could be found. Whether Lord Shiva is blessing 
somebody or acts fierce on somebody, the ways employed are 
straight-forward and no stealthy ways. Sambandhar here depicts two 
classic cases one of giving refuge and the other acting hard on wrong 
doers. In both the cases God did what is just as well as gracious. It 
is the Lord Who made the justice and has that as the bull flag. The 
Lord is just and blameless in Its actions. Hailings to that Feet of 
Perfection !
2. pOzum - rip apart; kAnal - sea-shore (groves); muththam -
pearl; kaN^gul - night; kali - roaring.
