திருச்சிற்றம்பலம் 

உண்ணாமுலை உமையாளொடும் உடனாகிய ஒருவன்
பெண்ணாகிய பெருமான்மலை திருமாமணி திகழ
மண்ணார்ந்தன அருவித்திரள் மழலைம்முழ வதிரும்
அண்ணாமலை தொழுவார்வினை வழுவாவண்ணம் அறுமே.  1.10.1

paN 	n^aTTapADai
mudhal thirumuRai

thiruchchiRRambalam 

uNNAmulai umaiyALoDum uDanAgiya voruvan
peNNAgiya perumAn malai thirumAmaNi thikaza
maNNArn^dhana aruviththiraL mazalaim muzavadhirum
aNNamalai thozuvArvinai vazuvAvaNNam aRumE

thiruchchiRRambalam 

Meaning:
He is the one accompanied by uma - the one with the undrunk breasts !
The Lord who becomes the lady himself (ardanArIshvara form) !
His mount splenders as a mount of gem ! 
This is the mount vibrating with the water-falls roaring like the drums .
One who salutes this thiruvaNNAmalai, their deeds (consequences of the 
actions performed earlier) are surely cut off !! 

Notes:
1. The God and the Goddess are inseparable and not just that, they are 
one and the same. So the Lord is hailed here as the one who became lady himself. 
2. The Goddess, the mother of vigNesh and kArtikeya, is the mother of 
the whole universe. But this supreme lady did not deliver like the 
normal mothers. So she is hailed by the prodigy as uNNAmulai umai.
